Compliance Manager

Position Type: Full-Time (Salary)

Job Description: The Arnold Center is a premier provider of training and employment opportunities for people with disabilities and barriers to employment. For over 50 years, through our locations in Midland and Gladwin, our organization has served as an innovator in the community. The Compliance Manage is a key role that develops, initiates and oversees the Arnold Center's corporate, state and national policies to ensure compliance with the rules and regulations of all regulatory agencies and Arnold Center policies and procedures.


• Institutes and maintains an effective compliance communication program for the organization to include the new and existing compliance issues.

• Works with the Human Resources Department and others as appropriate to develop an effective compliance-training program. Ensure HR conducts an appropriate introductory training for new employees as well as ongoing training for all employees and managers.

• Manages operation of Compliance Program.

• Develop policies to adhere to Medicaid regulations for Center agencies.

• Periodically reviews policies to ensure that they meet latest regulations.

• Provides guidance to employees and management related to compliance matters.

• Oversees Medicaid billing audit consultant for agencies.

• Develops and oversees a system for uniform handling of alleged complaints. Responds to alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct.

• Acts as a channel of communication by evaluating or recommending the initiation of investigative procedures.

• Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and develops/ implements corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues. Provides general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.

• Provides reports on a regular basis, and as requested, to keep President informed of the operation and progress of the compliance efforts.

• Ensures proper reporting of violations to authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate or required.

• Monitors the performance of the Compliance Program and related activities on a continuing basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.


• Bachelor's degree in related field. Masters Degree a plus

• 3 years of experience as a Corporate Compliance Officer, preferably in non-profit organization.

• Familiarity with CARF and ISO programs a plus.

• Experience in all aspects of operational, financial, quality assurance and human resources procedures and regulations.

• Ability to work independently, assess priorities, take initiative, handle multiple assignments, and meet deadlines

• Strong analytical, administrative, and written and oral communication skills

Direct Support Staff (Midland and Gladwin Locations)

We have a part-time opening for a Direct Support Staff. Must be able to work at least 3 shift(s) per week and be available weekdays.

• No experience required. • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. • Be authorized to work in the United States. • Must have reliable transportation. • Must be insurable with our insurance carrier. • Background check required.

Wage: $10.40

Must be outgoing and motivated.

Responsible for providing direct support to our customers in the activities of their choosing including community based activities, community employment and manufacturing. The ability to develop and maintain good rapport with community based organizations and customers.

We offer scheduling Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 4:00 pm. Paid vacation/personal time and holidays, life insurance, no weekends.
